G.I.

He patrols the course. He finds the neglect. He names it — precisely, calmly, and with the full weight of someone who takes this much more seriously than you do.

Personnel File

Meet the
Officer.

G.I. Joe — Groove Integrity Officer — was commissioned after one too many rounds played with equipment in an unacceptable state of disrepair. Oxidized club faces. Compromised bag DWR. Grip surfaces so degraded they posed a measurable threat to shot accuracy.

He does not raise his voice. He does not need to. He simply observes, documents, and demonstrates the correct procedure. Then he hands you the kit.

His tone is professional. His standards are absolute. The situation, he will be the first to admit, is not entirely normal.

Field Reports

Violations
documented.

01
Club Face Violation
Oxidation in the Grooves
Officer Joe located a 56-degree wedge with rust visible to the unaided eye. The owner had not cleaned it since "sometime last fall." Officer Joe noted this without expression. He has seen worse. He wishes he hadn't.
Remedy: No. 01 Club Protectant
02
Bag Exterior Violation
Failed DWR — Water Pooling Observed
A morning round in light dew resulted in full water absorption across the main body of the bag. The owner called it "just a little wet." Officer Joe retrieved his field notes. There was nothing "just" about it.
Remedy: No. 02A + No. 02B Bag Care
03
Headcover Condition Violation
Knit Fiber Compromise
Three headcovers — driver, 3-wood, hybrid — presented with embedded debris, matted fibers, and a smell Officer Joe has since tried to forget. The owner said they were "vintage." Officer Joe said they were "a hazard."
Remedy: No. 03 Leather Cleaner + Conditioner
04
Footwear Condition Violation
Spike Contamination — 18 Holes of Evidence
Officer Joe inspected the soles. He found grass from three different courses, a pebble from what he estimates was a cart path, and UV degradation consistent with two full seasons without protection. He filed a formal report. It was four pages.
Remedy: No. 04 Shoe Cleaner + Protectant
05
Grip Integrity Violation
Tack Loss — Severe
The grips were slick. Officer Joe wrapped his hand around a 6-iron and said nothing for eleven seconds. He then asked the owner when they had last conditioned the grips. The owner said they didn't know grips needed conditioning. Officer Joe sat down.
Remedy: No. 05 Grip Cleaner + Conditioner
06
General Equipment Violation
No Kit On Premises
Upon completing his inspection, Officer Joe asked to see the golfer's equipment care kit. The golfer produced a single wet towel clipped to their bag. Officer Joe looked at the towel. He looked at the golfer. He left to retrieve the Field Kit himself.
Remedy: The YoreCaddy Field Kit
Field Demonstrations

The correct
procedure.

No. 01
Club Protectant
"This is how you protect a club face."
Officer Joe demonstrates the correct application sequence. He does not rush. He does not skip steps. He has never skipped a step in his life.

No. 02
Fabric Cleaner + Re-proofer
"Cleaner first. Re-proofer second. In that order."
Officer Joe explains the two-step sequence. He explains it twice. He will explain it again if required.
Tutorial coming soon
No. 03
Leather Cleaner + Conditioner
"pH neutral. Safe for leather. Safe for knit. Not optional."
Officer Joe treats each headcover with the same gravity he would apply to any piece of equipment under his care. Which is considerable.

No. 04
Shoe Cleaner + Protectant
"The spikes. Then the uppers. Then the UV coat."
Officer Joe works methodically, from sole to toe box. He does not acknowledge the camera. He is focused.
Tutorial coming soon
No. 05
Grip Cleaner + Conditioner
"You will feel the tack return. That is the point."
Officer Joe applies the conditioner. He waits. He tests the grip. He nods once. That is as close to enthusiasm as Officer Joe gets.
